Following up on my question from the March 19th API meeting.
When a law firm and the vendor are the same entity that wish to perform filings on behalf of their clients (which this vendor currently performs on Corporate Online), how will this vendor link existing businesses that were registered on Corporate Online? Will the vendor have to self approve a request to manage this business in the business registry page as shown in the delegation flow demo?
This question was also asked on a previous thread in Discourse.
Also asked in the thread above is how a client/business could make filings themselves in the future, without relying on the vendor. We’re still unsure what happens to corporate passwords.
For existing businesses, the vendor will need to request confirmation of delegation from the firm managing the business in the modernized application. As mentioned in the session, we are currently testing the workflow and will provide detailed guidance on how to test it in the sandbox
Hi, thanks for your response. Perhaps my initial question was not clear. Here is an example.
Company A manages the filings, annual returns, and all mandatory corporate filings for Company Z leveraging the existing filing system on Corporate Online. BC Registry moves to the new API system. How does Company A continue to file on behalf of Company Z with BC Registry? For future companies that Company A incorporates using the new APIs, this will not be a problem as future companies will be associated with Company A in BC Registry.
According to your response, Company A will have to request permission from itself - which doesn’t make sense. Please advise.
